A dance as a dance

How do we experience dancing as a practice of becoming? What happens to our senses when we dance and how are they transformed? Can the practice of dancing be connected to a need of redefining our existence and a desire for transcendence? These are some of the questions posed by choreographer Iris Karayan in her new production entitled A dance as a dance.

Working with archival material that studies the movement vocabulary and dances of different cultures, Karayan explores the body, its pulses and breaths, creating a performance that focuses on dancing and liveness as a condition of being in the world.
