Thodoris Gonis

National Garden
A stroll through learning and yearning

The performance on 18/6 is cancelled, as the Garden is closed, by order of the possible. The performance on 17/6 was cancelled due to rain.

Thodoris Gonis’ inspired performance on the history of the National Garden of Athens and Queen Amalia was met with enthusiasm at Athens Festival 2017 and will be repeated for this year’s edition.
A poetic journey drawing on texts and documents historically linked to the marble statues/historical figures that visitors come across while visiting the Garden, including the agriculturalists and engineers that helped shape it; the charming story of the 20-year-old queen who dreamt of this Garden - her legacy to the people of Athens - will also be addressed.
