Keyvan Chemirani & the Rhythm Alchemy
featuring Sokratis Sinopoulos
French-Iranian Keyvan Chemirani’s new creation blends diverse styles and traditions thanks to his unmistakable musical sensibility. Hypnotic percussion beats, kanjira and tablas from the Indian subcontinent cross paths with Western drums and the beatboxing of the hip hop culture, as well as the sounds of lyra and cello by two masters of the instruments, Sokratis Sinopoulos and Vincent Ségal respectively. Through their rich, complex sound, the artists move back and forth between a meditative and a festive mood, generously sharing with us the alchemical power of rhythm.
