On 7 and 8 August, audiences at the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus had the opportunity to enjoy a performance tackling the pain of romantic separation and rejection; a bold directorial concept of Francis Poulenc’s one-act opera La voix humaine, based on Jean Cocteau’s monologue of the same title.

Under the August starry sky, director Maria Panourgia created an exotic, lush garden on the stage of the Little Theatre, for the performance “J’ai des yeux à la place des oreilles” – La voix humaine. The celebrated soprano enchanted the audience with her emotionally powerful and charged performance, the sounds of Maria Papapetropoulou’s piano.
