Photographer Pinelopi Gerasimou attended one of the rehearsals for the tribute concert dedicated to the late Thanos Mikroutsikos “Set Up The Spotlight”, and captured the vibe. Christos Thivaios, Foivos Delivorias, Kostas Thomaidis, Rita Antonopoulou, Renia Louizidou and Thymios Papadopoulos are getting ready for the big concert at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, which will open this year’s Athens Festival.

On 15 and 16 July, audiences will enjoy songs originally written by Mikroutsikos for theatre, which he especially loved. In his own words: “There is an organic, unbroken relationship between the music and the theatrical performance. If one listens to my music for theatre, one can tell I’m running the gamut. Why is that? Because, only what is functional in theatre can also be acceptable and right. And the magic of theatre music depends on how functional it is”.
