Attis Theatre - Theodoros Terzopoulos

Persians
by Aeschylus

“In this timeless and particularly pertinent tragedy, we observe the foundering of an empire that has fallen behind the times, that has travelled full circle and is collapsing as a result of its pernicious structures. In Persians, Aeschylus describes the ritual of burial: the play begins with the death foretold, continues as a dirge, and ends as a sobbing, wild lament.”

Theodoros Terzopoulos

The play opened the 4th Theatrical Olympiad in Istanbul on May 16 in the Byzantine church of Agia Eirini and in collaboration with the Istanbul International Festival.
